UGC restarts the application process for National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities

University Grants Commission (UGC) has reopened the application process for the National Fellowship for Persons with Disabilities (NFPwD) for 2018-19 and 2019-20. Candidates can apply for the fellowship online at ugc.ac.in on or before June 19, 2020.

The commission provides the fellowship to students with disabilities to pursue their research in MPhil and Ph.D. programmes on behalf of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, under The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

There are 200 slots for each year with provision of reservation of 15% for Scheduled Castes and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes.

Fellowship

Rs.25,000/-p.m. initial two year as JRF.

Rs.28,000/-p.m. for remaining tenure as SRF

Selection process: –

The selection will be made purely on merit based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in their Post Graduation (PG) examination, after verification of applications, from amongst the candidates whose applications are received through online mode on the designated portal of UGC.
