Corporate scholarships for Engineering and Management students

In engineering, many scholarships have been offered by corporate. Mostly, corporate offers scholarship in both field (Engineering and Management) and needy students should know about these scholarships.These scholarships provide an opportunity to meritorious students of economically weaker families to pursue their higher studies.                              

 Aditya Birla Scholarship

Each year, the Aditya Birla Group offers a number of Aditya Birla Scholarship which is exclusively open to students from defined institutions in India.

The Aditya Birla Scholarships cover a large part of academic fees as well as the hostel fees for the IITs / BITS stream and some part of the tuition fee for the management and law streams.

The scholarship amount for-

IIMs / XLRI –      Rs. 1,75,000 per annum

IIT / BITS (Pilani):-      Rs 65,000 per annum

LAW    –      Rs. 1,80,000 per annum or fees at actuals, whichever is lower

Who can apply?

Students from the following institutes can apply for the Scholarships:

  • IIMs – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Khozikode, Shillong
  • XLRI – Jamshedpur
  • IITs (B.Tech) – Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati
  • BITS (Pilani) Campuses
  • LAW: National Law School of India University – Bangalore,

             NALSAR University of Law – Hyderabad,

             The WB National University of Juridical Sciences – Kolkata,

              National Law University – Jodhpur

The top 20 students (in terms of their entrance exam ranking at the time of admission) are invited to apply through the Dean of the respective institutes.

Selection Procedure:

  • The applicants: 160 students from the IIMs and XLRI, 160 students from the IITs and BITS (Pilani) and 80 students from law campuses will be evaluated on the basis of the information given in the application form.
  • Essays written by these students will then be reviewed by a panel to shortlist candidates for the final round.
  • Shortlisted students will be invited for an interview which will determine the best 160 students each from – engineering and management and 80 from law who will be named Aditya Birla Scholars.

The interviews will be conducted by an eminent panel of luminaries and academicians. Shortlisted students should carry all supporting documents such as copies of certificates, mark sheets, etc.

The interviews will be held in Mumbai for which the shortlisted candidates will be provided accommodation, travel reimbursement and a token allowance.


                            L&T Build India Scholarship

Each year 40 fresh engineering graduates in the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines are sponsored by L&T Construction to the M.Tech (Construction Technology & Management) Course at IIT(Delhi/Madras) and NIT (Surathkal/ Trichy). The Course is designed by the IIT’s in consultation with ECC. After successful completion of M.Tech, selected students will be offered employment opportunity at L&T Limited.

Scholarship Amount: For the 24-month course, L&T will pay candidates a stipend of 13400/- per month as well as sponsorship and tuition fee to IIT / NIT.

Who can apply?

Only first-class graduates in Civil / Electrical Engineering who will pass out in 2016 from a recognised Indian university / institute, with the following consistent academic record.

  • 10th Std : Minimum 60% or CGPA of 6.50 on a scale of 10
  • 12th Std : Minimum 60% or CGPA of 6.50 on a scale of 10
  • B.E. / B.Tech : Minimum 60% or CGPA of 6.75 on a scale of 10

Age: Up to 23 years

Minimum Height: 160 cm. Minimum Weight: 50 kg.

Vision: If wearing glasses, power should be less than ± 5.0 dioptres.

Selection Process:

  • Candidates must qualify in GATE .
  • They must also pass in the written aptitude test and interview conducted by IITs (Madras & Delhi) and NITs (Surathkal/Trichy) in co-ordination with L&T Construction
  • Note that the final selection will depend upon the medical fitness of the shortlisted candidates


                  LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship

LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship  provides an opportunity to meritorious students of economically weaker families to pursue their higher studies. This scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private college/university. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes at Graduation level.

Under the scheme the selected candidates will receive an amount of Rs. 10,000 annually for pursuing higher studies in India in a government or private college/university.

Who can apply?

  • Students who have passed Class XII exam or its equivalent in the Academic Year 2015-16 and are interested to pursue higher education in the field of

i) Medicine, Engineering, Graduation in any discipline, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses.

ii) Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).

  • HSC: Minimum 60% aggregate
  • Annual Family Income: Not more than 1 lakhs
  • HSC: Minimum 60% aggregate ( For ITI students)

                     IET India scholarship

Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community.

The IET India Scholarship programme has been designed to reward and celebrate individual excellence and innovation among undergraduate engineering students. B.Tech students from AICTE/UGC-approved institutions from across the nation can apply for the scholarships across two categories – General and Women.

Scholarship Amount-The total scholarship amount is Rs.8,00,000/-.

Distribution of Scholarship money:

1. Regional Level:

  • Winner – Rs.40, 000/- + Certificate
  • Runner – Rs.20, 000/- + Certificate

2. National Level:

  • First – Rs. 1,00,000 + Certificate
  • Second – Rs. 75, 000/- + Certificate

         Two winners per Region (totally five regions)

          Two winners at the National level

  • Women Engineer:

        Two winners per Region (totally five regions)

Selection Process –

The IET India Scholarship will be given on merit-based selection criteria. IET India Scholarship is a 4 stage selection process.


  • Any second and third year full time regular UG Engineering programme student from an AICTE/UGC approved institution
  • All regular credit courses must have been cleared in a single attempt by the applicant.
  • UG marks should aggregate to at least 60% in aggregate for the semesters cleared so far or corresponding to CGPA of at least 6.5 on a 10 point scale.
  • Higher Secondary (or equivalent) marks should be above 60% or of equivalent grade.
  • There is no age limit for the applicant.
  • Application is open for all IET members and non- members and for all branches of engineering as recognised by the AICTE/UGC.
  • Students from AICTE/UGC approved Institutions are eligible to apply for the scholarship.


Siemens Scholarship

Siemens Scholarship Program aims to encourage and promote engineering education amongst meritorious students from less privileged families. Siemens Scholarship has been introduced by Smile Foundation and Growth Centre (I) Pvt. Ltd. The scholarships are aimed at supporting deserving candidates to pursue their education and launch a sustainable career in engineering, R&D or manufacturing. These bright minds will be supported with a scholarship program throughout the four years of graduation.

Siemens Scholarship is an annual scholarship comprising :

  • Tuition Fees reimbursement (If the student is availing any other scholarship, the balance

tuition fee, if any, would be reimbursed)

  • Flat allowances for books, stationeries, hostel, additional classes, etc.
  • 50% of scholarship reserved for girls

Additionally, training, projects and mentorship provided by Siemens would acquaint the students with the dynamics of the industry, thereby leading to their holistic development.

Who can apply?

  • 1st year students of Government Engineering Colleges from India pursuing Engineering in:

                    Indian Oil Educational Scholarship Scheme

Indian Oil offers 2600 Scholarships to Students pursuing 10+, ITI, Engineering, MBBS & MBA Streams on merit-cum-means basis. Out of 2600 Scholarships , 2000 Scholarships are offered for 10+/ITI students and 600 scholarships are offered to students pursuing professional courses (Engineering–300 Nos., MBBS-200 Nos. & MBA-100 Nos.)

Scholarship value-

The Scholarship amount per month for 10+2 stream is Rs. 1000, for Engineering stream, MBBS stream and for MBA stream are Rs. 3000. The toppers in these streams will be given a lump sum amount of Rs.10, 000. They will be invited personally to receive the amount at the cost of the concern. The maximum duration of scholarship  depends on minimum duration of course .

Criterion for selection will be on the basis of merit and family income.

Who can apply?

Students pursuing full time/regular courses (not correspondence/distance/online mode) in these streams and studying in Schools / Colleges / Institutions recognized by MCI / AICTE / State Education Boards/State Technical Education Boards / ICSE / ISC / CBSE shall be eligible to apply for the different streams as under :

1.10+/ITI : (For 10+) – Bonafide students (full time / regular) in 11th standard / Ist Year of Intermediate course or equivalent course are eligible to apply.

2.(For ITI) – Bonafide students (full time / regular) in 1st year of 2 years ITI course are eligible to apply.

3.Engineering and MBBS : Bonafide students (full time/regular) in the first year of Engineering/MBBS degree courses (minimum 4 years’ duration course) are eligible to apply.

4.MBA : Bonafide students (full time/regular) in the first year of minimum 2 years post graduate course in Business Administration/Management are eligible to apply.  

5.AGE LIMIT: Minimum 15 years and maximum 30 years as at the time of applying.

Income of Family: Candidates who are going to apply their Guardian’s annual income must not exceed Rs. 1, 50,000/-. Preference will be given to those whose family income per annum is Rs. 60,000/-.


                                   ONGC SCHOLARSHIP

ONGC Scholarship for the SC & ST Students who are pursuing professional courses such as Engineering, MBBS, MBA and Masters Degree Course in Business Administration, Geology and Geophysics. Oil India Natural Gas Limited  provides ONGC Scholarship to1000 Meritorious Economically Backward General and SC/ST/OBC Students.

   O.P. Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships

OP Jindal was an industrialist and is better known as the founder chairman of Jindal Steel and Power. In his memory, each year OP Jindal Foundation awards 100 students from 40 premier engineering and management institutions with its OP Jindal Engineering and Management Scholarships. In last 5 years, more than 500 students have been awarded with this coveted scholarship.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate or master degree programs at participating institutes in India.

Award of Scholarship

Yearly Scholarship Amount:

  • INR 1, 50, 000 for each Management Students
  • INR 80, 000 for each Engineering Students
